- On July 1, 2026, the state minimum wage will rise to $20 an hour, because no Virginian working 40 hours a week should be struggling to keep a roof over their head. Sixty percent of Republicans support this common-sense idea; it’s not radical, it’s just fair. If you work hard, you should be able to afford a two-bedroom apartment and live with dignity.
- We’ll also be reclaiming the First Amendment rights of Virginia’s workers. On that same day, the so-called “Right to Work” law—better known as the “Right to Be Exploited” law—will be repealed. Workers in this Commonwealth will have their constitutional rights restored: the right to assemble, the right to organize, and the right to demand better wages and working conditions.
- Virginia’s state and municipal workers will finally receive the same bargaining rights that federal employees have had since 1978. It’s about time our teachers, firefighters, and public servants are treated with the respect they deserve, with the power to negotiate for a better future for themselves and their families.
- Every single Virginian will have full coverage for both physical and mental health care. No one should have to stay in a bad job or risk their health because they’re afraid of losing their insurance. Come July 2026, that fear ends.
- The military-industrial complex, the modern-day pharaoh of our Commonwealth, will finally pay its fair share. On July 1, 2026, we’ll fund student debt relief for all Virginians, just as the Bible commands in Deuteronomy 15:1-3. This will open the doors to home ownership, family-building, and career growth for thousands who’ve been trapped by crushing debt.
As we celebrate 250 years of American independence, let’s make sure workers have the same freedoms we’ve handed to corporations for decades. It’s time to put the people of Virginia first. Let’s make July 1, 2026, the day we finally deliver justice and opportunity to every corner of this Commonwealth!
